Mabon/Fall Equinox is today, September 23, 2011

Mabon is the season of sacrifice, of watching what you love die, and committing yourself to faith that those things you see withering before you will return in another form.
Maybe take this time to walk through a wooded park filled with changing leaves. Meditate on what you will do to prepare for the fall and winter season. Choose a tree with lots of leaves and a healthy trunk, and place your hands on it. Listen as long as you can to the whispering of the leaves and hear if those sounds form thoughts or impressions in your mind. Take that moment to reflect on the summer and what gifts it had brought to you to warm your heart and your soul.
With winter comes reflection and calm. Give thought to what you and that tree will have to make do without what it provided  to the earth during the spring and summer. Be sure to leave an offering of thanks to the beauty that surrounds you and what the summer gifted to your memories.

Blessings,
