Mabon/Fall Equinox is today, September 23, 2011

Mabon is the season of sacrifice, of watching what you love die, and committing yourself to faith that those things you see withering before you will return in another form.
Maybe take this time to walk through a wooded park filled with changing leaves. Meditate on what you will do to prepare for the fall and winter season. Choose a tree with lots of leaves and a healthy trunk, and place your hands on it. Listen as long as you can to the whispering of the leaves and hear if those sounds form thoughts or impressions in your mind. Take that moment to reflect on the summer and what gifts it had brought to you to warm your heart and your soul.
With winter comes reflection and calm. Give thought to what you and that tree will have to make do without what it provided  to the earth during the spring and summer. Be sure to leave an offering of thanks to the beauty that surrounds you and what the summer gifted to your memories.

Blessings,

THE SUMMERLAND ZONE THAT LIES WITHIN THE MILKY WAY

"If I have told you of earthly things, and ye believe it not, how shall ye believe if I tell you of heavenly things?"
Testimony of Mary's son, as recorded in the new testament.

When I asked my four year old today where Grandma was, he simply took his index finger and pointed up....
I had never showed him where Heaven might be nor did I really ever explain what heaven was. Its sort of an innate concept that takes shape as we grow older. It fascinated me that we associate the sky above us as a final resting place for our loved ones. The concept of Heaven and the afterlife is coincidentally the general concept of my book and a Writers Workshop that I will be participating in October 6, 2011. I figured that maybe it was time to start gathering other peoples ideas of what they believe happens to us when our souls leave our physical bodies.

It is within reason with no conflicting testimony that there is a physical possibility of an inhabitable sphere or zone of spiritualized matter in space called the Summer Land. It is no dream that at the end of a telescope there are a group of stars and systems of suns. It has occupied man's eye and expanded their minds with respect to the magnitude of the planetary splendors. But how much do we really know, we have what our space expeditions tell us and we have whats in our hearts. If only there were a way to look within the vestibule of the Eternal Temple.
I'm not sure about you, but tonight I am going to take a moment to stare up....

Happy star watching and peace to those in the Summer Land, especially you mom.

"Fear only has as much power as we give it space" Josh Ritter

So I don't know about you but sometimes in life we need to breathe. Review our goals and make sure we are on the path we intentionally started on. Life has a tendency to veer us off course between kids, work, loss and hobbies, we can become lost. Being that my life has consisted of all of those mentioned above I decided to explore Yoga. I needed to regroup mentally and physically, needless to say I really had no idea what it entailed other than maybe a tree pose and some nice music. Ummm... not so much! I signed up for a 2 1/2 hour beginner workshop and after it was over I was exhausted. I sweated more than I would like to mention, my body screamed rejection at the poses I forced on it but surprisingly I felt exhilerated.
I decided to sign up, not sure what I was thinking at this point because I could barely lift the pen to sign my name but never the less I did 30 days for $30. Not a bad deal and ventured to my second class last night. Just the two times I have gone I already have a new energy, my life seems a little calmer and I am breathing. Maybe only an hour and fifteen minutes a day is all I can afford myself for some personal time but it by far the most quality alone time I have spent with just me. I am hoping over the next few weeks I will find my path again, clear my mind of everything I don't need--the junk, clutter, hang-up's and hurts--and in with the fresh, fantastic, unencumbered life I have always wanted.
I wish that peace on all of you...Happy Wednesday

Magic is in the air!

With the last Harry Potter casting spells around the country and Halloween just around the corner--it's time to dust off your wands. I have even been following True Blood on HBO this season, as they have included Wiccan's into their crazy world.
I am excited for The Summerland Novel to share it's story of magic, love and adventure. Abigail's journey awaits her arrival into your nooks, kindles and e-readers soon, as well as your local book shelves!
I wish you all a magical August...

NEC Writers Conference in May 2011 Salem, Mass.

What a great trip!I was nervous about traveling alone across the states to the east coast. I met my editor, Donna for the first time at Logan Airport in Boston. Thank god we had each other that whole day before conference started. We shopped and ate lunch in Salem. It was everything I had hope for. I also had the privilege to meet my amazing publishers for dinner, Steph Murray and Marlene. They made me feel welcomed and accepted immediately. We all had a beautiful weekend. The workshops were great and I cant wait to go again next year. Thanks Crescent Moon Press for all your support you give your authors...and thanks Donna for the great picture!
Hugs....
